My blog - will contain all forms of art, including, drawings, photography, sketches, and paintings. It will follow my development in art as well as Danish.
This means that for now you will see both English and Danish comments and write-ups in my blog, and perhaps just Danish by the end of the year.
The style will also change with time as I experiment with layout, accessories, etc.
Fasten your seatbelts and hold on to your hats. Hope you enjoy the ride as much as I know I will.

Sculpture

I have been working with a variety of types of sculptures. It has been quite challenging but enjoyable.

Our introduction to the topic was blind modelling with clay. First, we had to beat the air out of the clay so there would not be any air bubbles which would then cause the sculpture to crack when baked.

We started with a face. Then, we did a thumb, and last a whole person. It was quite comical to see how some things turned out some times. We then, had to make an apple. We then had show what the apple would look like if it was affected by an outside force. We chose to make it look like a car ran over it. Then we made it look like it was affected from within. Our apple had been left to bake for too long so it exploded - a bit.

A dynamic moment

Now it was time to catch a dynamic moment while turning a 2 dimensional picture into a 3 dimensional figure. I chose to use 2 types of wire and a picture of an Indian woman dancing as inspiration.

I tried a variety of materials for making sculptures of people including: clay, modelling clay, modelling wax, and wire.

Alphabet Sculpture

I started with a piece of wire that I made into an 's'. I took photos of the 's' bent into different shapes turning a two dimensional object into a three dimensional sculpture. The shadows were not very strong so I put tape on the wire to make it broader. The shadows turned out great.

Shoe Sculpture
A shoe is great material to use for making a sculpture, especially when it is a good quality shoe with many layers. I worked with making a shoe into an abstract sculpture and then took photos of it from different angles. I then drew parts of the shoe sculpture in pencil using outlining and shading.

I also drew a couple pictures of my shoe sculpture with an emphasis on light and shade, depth, and texture.

Skulptur med bogstav i flere forskellige materialer
Jeg lavet den skulpture med bogstavet 'S', og sætte fokus på overfladestruktur, lys/skygge effect og faver i sammenspil med hinanden.
